MACHAME ROUTE
This is one of the best – and most affordable climbing routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. Machame route is a popular route for trekkers who want to take their time, and enjoy sleeping outdoors and watching the sunrise and set over the Great Rift Valley. Machame village is served by a tarmac road. There is a park checkpoint at the start of the route. The walking is strenuous, initially up narrow, slippery paths through beautiful forest. It provides good access to the South Western Glaciers and the Western Breach.
